Title: Database Research in Department of Computer Science and
Technology of Tsinghua University

Speaker: ZHOU Lizhu (Tsinghua University, China)

Abstract:
The Database Group of Department of Computer Science and Technology of
Tsinghua University is one of the active database research communities
in China. In recent years, its research areas involve data warehouse,
web data processing, digital library, deductive database, data
mining, and data models for GIS, etc. This talk will first give an
overview on those research activities, and then focus on a system
called THADL, a digital library case study for students' education on
the Internet, including the efficient architecture of THADL system,
and its key techniques and functions. At the end of the talk, a
general framework for managing digital recourses on the Internet will
be discussed.
