Title: Web Information: So Near and Yet So Far

Abstract:
The World Wide Web (Web) is offering an unprecedented amount of information
and will make more information available in the foreseeable future.
Although Web information is in principle directly accessible through a web
browser, it is increasingly difficult in practice to find the information
that we want due a number of technical problems. We will discuss some of
these problems as research challenges. We will also discuss some of the
recent progress made at Georgia Tech, including event monitoring and
notification, as well as automated wrapper generation and content
classification.
